Central Coast Ranch Wedding

This wedding was exceptionally beautiful and unique for a variety of reasons: 1. The bride and groom, Shea and Kendra, are two extremely dear friends 2. they both have style and swagger that I can only dream of 3. Shea's mom's ranch 4. the vows 5. San Luis Obispo.

One might think it would be challenging to work with a very design and style-savvy bride due to their very clear vision for the visual effect of their wedding. On the contrary, I really enjoyed working with Kendra as she's an excellent communicator and her sense of style is right up my alley. It also helped that Shea and Kendra are plant lovers, known to use the hashtag #plantsarefriendstoo, thus, we wanted to incorporate some of their favorite botanical materials to reflect their wedding's semi-arid setting. Some of the materials that I featured: A variety of succulents and air plants, agonis, smoke bush, seeded eucalyptus, acacia, hanging amaranthus, scabiosa, poppy pods, dahlias, garden roses, scabiosa pods, and leucadendron.

The Cana Family, talented photo/videographers, blew us away with their gorgeous images and video, and yet somehow all day I barely even knew they were there. Sneaky. The following images from The Cana Family, and a few of my own, are some of my favorites from this special day at the Somma Ranch with some really terrific people.

Kendra and Shea took a ceramics class together in the months before the wedding to create the awesome cacti centerpieces you see here which coupled as favors for guests to take home, along with their homemade strawberry jam and mix-CD! Honestly, what can't these two do? | Jaclyn K. Nesbitt
